Right ingredients, neglected instructions
As others point out, the OP forgot to mix honey with cream - but not necessarily heather, often fixed, and liquid honey works best. Must not contain whiskey - a Scottish dish made of whiskey and Scotland; by the law of our drink called whiskey, and has a different taste of whiskey. Sometimes I find malt used but usually better mixes - and cheaper. Islay Malt Whisky, for example, is too powerful. I use rasps Tayside (I think Cranachan a treat seasonal and shudders of frozen rasps think). Sometimes I have a few crushed berries in the bottom of the glass instead of the cream mixture and put a selection of one or two at the top. As the recipe is in the blood - by the comment "" I should know, I'm Scottish "" amused. (In Scotland, born and raised, cooked profession for many years in Scotland, rich in Scottish traditions, grandma also a Scottish professional chef) Never serve with shortbread or Burns Night - butter cookies and a small glass of the bard.
