Question: Christmas cake - Why do I have brown or newspaper in the oven?
Recipe Christmas cake called ... "Tie a double band of brown paper or newspaper around the outside" and "Stand tin on a double layer of newspaper in the bottom of the oven and bake for 04: 30". Why?
Answer: A Christmas cake contains lots of sweet fruit and sugar and bake the cake lasts more than 4 hours. Wrap the cake pan as cake shape to protect on a double layer of newspaper to the bottom and sides of the cake and keeps it from cooking too quickly and especially during the long cooking burn slowly.
