You can not deny that the bubble and squeak recipe is still excellence. Traditional, tasty mix of residues Sunday Monday eat for lunch or dinner (topped with a fried egg is my favorite). This is the beautiful combination of potatoes and vegetables, which are plate-shaped and tasty.

This version of "Fantasy" is taken from plant from scratch, but if you have a decent amount of recovery fried potatoes (these work best, but you can use puree) and have vegetables, then use this.

I have a bit of sausage flavor in this recipe, but if you want a vegetarian version, you can. How about some leftovers of sausages, shredded roast instead? Versatility is the order of the day, be sure to use what you have; You are not limited by your imagination.

The use of the remains, the size of the antenna depends on the quantity have.

How quickly and easily Cranachan Scottish

Right ingredients, neglected instructions

As others point out, the OP forgot to mix honey with cream - but not necessarily heather, often fixed, and liquid honey works best. Must not contain whiskey - a Scottish dish made of whiskey and Scotland; by the law of our drink called whiskey, and has a different taste of whiskey. Sometimes I find malt used but usually better mixes - and cheaper. Islay Malt Whisky, for example, is too powerful. I use rasps Tayside (I think Cranachan a treat seasonal and shudders of frozen rasps think). Sometimes I have a few crushed berries in the bottom of the glass instead of the cream mixture and put a selection of one or two at the top. As the recipe is in the blood - by the comment "" I should know, I'm Scottish "" amused. (In Scotland, born and raised, cooked profession for many years in Scotland, rich in Scottish traditions, grandma also a Scottish professional chef) Never serve with shortbread or Burns Night - butter cookies and a small glass of the bard.

So delicious recipe Yorkshire Brack

fascinating, if not cake

The reason for the curiosity with my brand and my intention to cooking dichotomy back, is that the recipe will not be added. I would love to cook, where quantities are ordered in metric and imperial system, it does not bother me. I would also note that the cake (traditional) at least half of the nuts is not by any stretch of healthy (tasty but not healthy) imagination. I see, I'll do that a little more if ... it could also be noted that this is seen the first version that I have is that traditional butter must be added fat came almonds and eggs. The other great thing about these cookies is that they keep time for incredibly long hours, provided they are reasonably maintained, because sugar is an excellent preservative. Fat is not fat, excess calories are fattening.

Top tips for perfect macarons

There is much talk about how it is difficult to macaroni. Not at all. Of course, they are tough, but just need a few tips and believe me; will soon be made perfect macarons every time. The first time I had these delicious treats French, my attempt was a disaster - see it can happen to a professional. The reason? Received little attention from the recipe say it might just be uncomfortable, after all, is basically a meringue. Well, I was wrong. It is possible, no rules support and advice a noticeable, but not very pretty by the payment of the features so that macarons loved him (not just like).

Le Macaron tower is up, I made for the wedding of my step-daughter; as you can see, I improved since the first feeble attempts. These are the tips that I learned along the way and helped me to improve.

My top tips for perfect macarons - every time

  1. Use a carpet: If you can, buy a Macaron form to make a silicone mat especially for the macarons. My favorite Lakeland in the UK, but shop around where you are. You do not have to buy a carpet; You can draw a pattern in parchment paper; the advantage on the mat is to help the notches, a perfect fit.
  2. Colorful macaroons: For the color buttons, the use of food coloring and do not add it to a liquid; Using a liquid changes the texture badge. The dyes are added to the liquid egg white. Add more rather than less, at this point, it is a color darker ultimately wants; However, it is significantly easier to beat and the addition of sugar.
Chocolate Macaroons are a little different, check the recipe to see the difference.
  3. Be prepared: Weigh and measure all ingredients before you start and always sift the icing sugar and ground almonds; You may think that skipping this step does not matter; This is the case. No risk sifting lumps in the mixture to blend to smooth macaroni.
  4. Clean and bright: With protein are that a few days old and at room temperature. Before installation make sure that the whisk and bowl are spotlessly clean and grease free.
  5. Slowly add sugar no protein at a time, in three parts is generally preferred. Beat egg whites until very, very good, so stiff, you can place the bowl upside down and they will not fall.
  6. When mixing the sugar almond / ice to the beaten egg white, with a thin spatula and fold quickly and smoothly., Have lost plump not be a large amount of air, but the resulting dough should still be thick and airy. Excess fluid and it worked.
  7. Less is more: Using a single round nozzle on your piping bag every fan is a waste of time. Less is more when the pipe on the mat or parchment paper; You do not have to fill as the mixture sit to the edge and fill the board.
  8. Press and wait: Once running, press the hob largely the work surface to remove air bubbles and to the solution of the mixture. Allow to dry before cooking macaroni tube; 20 to 30 minutes is the best; Macaroni surface dry and smooth.
  9. Touch Explosion: Midway, open the oven door and quickly swim a few times, so that the steam can escape. Close the door and ready to cook.
  10. Be patient: Once cooked, slip mat / parchment on wire rack and let the bullets go completely cold. Not be tempted to remove the macaroni to cool, get angry when you do that; Macaroni stay.
  11. Patience is slow and pipe filling on the flat side of a button, place the other on top and rotated to distribute the cream gently. Once the macarons are filled and are ready to eat to think, only to know; which are best stored in a container in the refrigerator overnight. The result is a smooth and macaroni taste. It's hard, I know, but it works.
  12. And finally: If you do not have time to fill the macarons not even cooked, or if you want to prepare a little in advance, shells freezes very well. In a large bowl, to prevent breakage and in the freezer to keep for over a month. Always fresh butter filling, freeze very well.

English Afternoon Tea - A large British custom

Where have tea to begin in the afternoon?

No more quintessentially British tea ceremony and ritual in the afternoon. It is believed that the custom credit goes to Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, which are used in the 19th century to serve the dinner 8-21 hours of practice was hungry and Duchess with a "sinking feeling" in the late afternoon. In order to survive, she ordered tea, bread and butter and cakes are served in your room. Later, she would invite friends to join them in their house and weak tea was such a success, a habit caught on.

The Duchess continued the custom back in London and soon the "Desktop" tea is developing rapidly distributed throughout England. Show on tea were sent to friends and family, the time which the tea is served show. Sometimes the entertainment is provided, but mostly it was just a bit of entertainment and gossip over tea and cake. If deficiencies were sent "home" guest participation are expected, unless, of course, were sent regrets. There was at least one person with a house every day and quickly established social relationships with the women who regularly see.

British dishes of the season: September

What foods are in season September in the UK?

When summer fades to fall to tanning vacation and beat on the door, it must be a consolation. This convenience comes ready for picking, sipping and cooking with plenty of food and drink now.

Berries, fruit and vegetables

Fingers crossed, but there should be enough heat in the sun to get fat juicy black plums, blackberries, pears and quinces dripping through the trees mature left.

The first crop of British apples soon hit the stores, which means it is close behind apple presses in the entire southwest is now overtime. Also on the topic of the liquid, the vineyards fail to reap in the UK, so fingers crossed for a warm, dry September.

And expect a lot of squash warty, deformed pumpkin balls and colored petals shaped pans-sufficient wind that are ripe and ready in time for steaming, frying or see pureed.

Beautiful British fungi

Look closely at the forest floor and by the large amount of mushrooms that have been blessed with be amazed; a large number of species, Shaggy and penny bun Inkcaps puffballs and chanterelles. Unfortunately, in the UK, we do not have the resources for a precise identification of the fungi, as they do in other European countries. So, without sounding condescending, if you make sure that you will take home not want to be your last meal wish: "I do not know, do not choose." Like most large supermarkets and farmers' markets anyway sell (I know it is not so funny, but much safer).

Nuts - Kentish cobnuts

One of my favorites from the fall, Kentish cobnut. Even if you do not like sweet, coconut-like, you have to admit that a bowl of them (especially the young, green hazelnuts) is very nice. The former are cobnuts not biting enough, and make a healthy snack, but are necessary because Nutcracker tender cure. They are delicious, even when cut in large pieces, adding a great crisis of salads. Grilled, they are very beautiful, fresh or stacked into a bowl of ice cream cheeses. The nuts are for a while, but I prefer them fresh, so it is made in bottles of oil quality as cobnut best for me, that the olive oil to buy storage and management in the same way. With over one kilo of nuts per bottle, it must be good for you.

Seafood in Columbia

Meanwhile, cooler water off the coast of the UK means that fatty fish are best, so take some mackerel, sardines or anchovies and get roasting. With the game flowing still, it seems that the Fall Festival has all the bases covered.

Since it finally an R 'in the month after 4 without these months, from September to April are the coldest in the UK and Ireland, and by far the best to eat fruits of the original sea first, with the highest reach juicy bi-conical valve - the oyster. Caution should be taken in the choice of oysters, never buy from a reputable provider fish and eat as soon as possible. If you need to keep for a few days in the fridge forever. Some people think, to avoid hard open oysters. Follow see this great step by step instructions and how easy it is.

One of my favorite fillings is hot, spicy chili con carne. The impact of spices is reduced somewhat by the sweet taste of the pasta pudding. It is not derived for the rice or potato carbohydrate whole pudding necessary. Simply, a tray. Gran.
